CREDIT card customers who pay off their balance each month are as much risk from being cut off by their lender as those that have lost control of their spiralling debts..Credit checking agencies say banks are beginning to weed out customers with faultless borrowing histories because they can make little profit on them.

Credit card providers have become more discerning about who they accept as new customers in recent years. Two years ago only about one in three of applicants for new cards were declined. That figure has since risen to nearly 50%. Barclaycard now turns down more applicants than it accepts.
Der Lacher ist ja, dass die a) einen Prozentsatz aller Umsätze als "Gebühr" kassieren, d.h. der Händler wird noch dafür bestraft, Kreditkarte zu akzeptieren, und b) vom Kunden für das Ausstellen der Kreditkarte pro Jahr "Gebühren" kassieren. Und das reicht jetzt nicht mehr?Bei manchen Kreditkarten kriegt man Teile der dem Händler weggenommenen Profite dann indirekt in Form von "Bonusmeilen" oder so dem Karteninhaber wieder. Vielleicht hat das ja auch damit was zu tun? (Danke, Uwe)
