• [l] Wenn NPR erstmal anfängt, bei den Republikanern im Dreck zu wühlen, da kommen gleich die wunderbarsten Details raus: Stellt sich raus, dass die "Illegale Einwanderer Einlochen" Gesetze in Arizona von der Lobby geschrieben wurden. Von welcher Lobby? Das wird euch jetzt genauso schockieren wie mich:

  It's a membership organization of state legislators and powerful corporations and associations, such as the tobacco company Reynolds American Inc., ExxonMobil and the National Rifle Association.

  Das ist ja schon großartig genug, aber es wird noch besser:

  Another member is the billion-dollar Corrections Corporation of America — the largest private prison company in the country.

  ACH NEE. Na SO ein Zufall! Und das hat sich auch echt gelohnt für die:

  According to Corrections Corporation of America reports reviewed by NPR, executives believe immigrant detention is their next big market. Last year, they wrote that they expect to bring in "a significant portion of our revenues" from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the agency that detains illegal immigrants.
