slightly off-topic: I haven't heard about pill shortages, but I hear about shortages of at-home chemistry kits. (I'm US based.) When students take on-line science classes at university (distance education instead of on-campus classes) sometime they have to get kits to do the experiments at home. Makes sense, watching youtube videos doesn't compare with hands-on experimentation. There are now severe shortages for those things for the upcoming semester. That's important, because university presidents still pretend that everyone will be back in on campus in the Fall, but clearly that won't happen. New infections are going up, and they'll cancel classes for fear of an on-campus outbreak. (Important infection vector: the athletes. They are back in training, and if someone brings it to the gym, soon enough the whole team has it.)
